Four more weeks and the drought will be over. I dislike mummy dry spells.

Opening act conch republic, they're in Hawaiian shorts and shirts with leis and feather boas. Their sound chef was ok. Heard beach boys, b-52s and a few other not sure on band but the music didn't suck during so in check. I'll let you know what I think afterwards.

I don't know if this link to FB will work, but Mummies were live in Lexington this evening --- awesome version of Make It Shake, with both Mummy Yo and Midnight Mummy playing two saxes at the same time. Even with new mummy The Shriek of Araby and sub Highlander, that horn section sounds amazing!

Re: Lexington, KY - Dec 2
Alright...Lexington!! Super fun show! I was seriously on the fence about making the trip for this one knowing there weren't going to be a whole lot of forum folks there and that it was a completely alternate horn section, but I'm glad I did! This was my second trip to the Manchester Music Hall (Formerly Buster's) and it was once again a great experience. A very good crowd all things considered, better than July I think. I was very worried when doors opened and a there was only a line of 30ish people who filed in , but thankfully it filled up over the next few hours. The crowd seemed very experienced, not a whole lot of virgins. Opening band was a local beach band that covered Jimmy Buffett, The Beach Boys, etc. They were a lot of fun, good choice for an opener. The boys were in great form as always, especially considering they had a horn section comprised completely of "substitutes". I had seen both Yo and Highlander before, and was very impressed and once again they delivered in a big way. The Shriek made his debut this weekend and did a fabulous job, catching on incredibly quickly. Of the three, Yo particularly stood out as the leader with fantastic solos, dance moves, and audience interaction. He is a serious riot! Oh, and did I mention he and Midnight both played TWO saxes at the same time?! I thought I'd seen all their tricks, but that one caught me off guard. The meet and greet was one of the most fun in recent memory, nice and spread out and not too crowded. The band, especially the horn section, stayed out for a very long time. It was great to get to know Yo, Shriek and Highlander a bit better. Special props to Yo for coming outside the venue after where several dozen people were hanging out and talking and actively approaching everyone outside and interacting with them before he went back on the bus. I've never seen a band approach so many people and tap on as many shoulders as he did. I could tell that made a big impression on a lot of people, once again demonstrating how above and beyond this band goes for their fans. It was great seeing the boys again, as well as all the familiar faces who came out. A great way to close out my 2016 batch of shows, Can't wait for 2017 and many more memories. See you all next year!

Good review, Mass. Thank you for that.
And for the pics on the Mummy thread.
Even when these guys have stand-ins, they're top notch.
I've seen Yo do that extra duty outside twice now. He IS full of energy.
Cheers!
