Dude: you SERIOUSLY screwed up. Really. Best show ever. I will begin with dinner and details. We went to an upscale brewery (hey, it was New York) and met up with friends of Jelly Mouth and eee's. We discovered a soft pretzel the size of a snare drum and delivered on a banana hook (cost: $14.00) as well as some tasty dark brews. Headed off to BB King's and promptly lost TDW. Our group split up into 3 search parties (one remaining in place in case she returned, unscathed) and the others headed off in opposite directions. We were playing our own "Where's Waldo" in New York City, except it was "Where is T?" She did return unscathed, saying: "I knew where it was the whole time, where the hell were you?" Big sighs of relief. Got to BB King's and saw a short line across from the door and thought, "we done good" only to discover that it was the second line!!! The first line already had their seat tickets in hand and were off discovering Times Square...say What? After waiting another hour +/- we got in and were seated toward the back of the room and depending on which seat you had, we had a clear view of the stage. There was a dance floor and the stage was at a great height (for me!) and after trolling around looking for virgins (found some German virgins at the merch table as well as one from Australia). T's boss surprised her by being at the show when T thought they were in Toronto! And a great treat was being recognized by people from Wisconsin who were down in front and held some spots for us on the dance floor!!!
Set list was similar to the previous nights (My Party, Booty, VIP, Freak Flag, Phenk Shui, Bump, Hard at Work, Bring that Down, Kinda Lingers, Peccadillo, Make it Shake, Pants, Ra Ra Ra, Single Double Triple, Weiner Man (and again in hieroglyphics (!) and our BB Queen played for 2-3 songs. What a treat to see him again and hearing him and Will Pharoah trade licks during RaRaRa was surreal; we don't even remember if anyone else was on stage. Midnight was on fire with his mummy chatter-schmatter and he gave as good as Cass during their back and forths. Solos by Flu on the alto sax (Jelly says it looks like a toy in his hands) went through the roof while Midnight's solos on the Bari hit us to the base core.
What a lovely way to start the new HCTM year. I am grateful for the friends I have discovered through HCTM and the rich opportunities and experiences that I am having through them. Smooches to you all...looking forward for a possible repeat in August...

Good review, Srta!! You made me feel like I was there!
And I truly miss hanging/traveling/partying/showing with you guys!
Glad you made it through unscathed. And this makes me more excited about my first show in 2 weeks.
Thank you.
;-)
"Where is TDWaldo???"

TDWaldo is sitting in the front seat, playing co-pilot to Jelly Mouth.

Re: New York, NY - March 12
B's review was spot on.
This was a great show! These guys never cease to amaze me with their talent and showmanship.
Just a couple of thoughts as we lost that hour and lost sleep last night thanks to a fire alarm in the hotel this morning . . . . more thoughts later . . .
It's true, echoing a post from a previous show. . . . I miss Java (there I said it) . . . . it's so very different but not in a bad way . . . Just different. Still amazing! And the coolest part for me is watching Cass do more of the audience participation and seeing Midnight be Master Multi-Tasker . . . . crazy! He is everywhere . . . . and it's just gonna get bigger and better!
As far as NYC goes . . . . as frustrating as it was to not be prepared early at the venue --BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T EVER HAD TO UP HERE IN THE NORTHEAST-- and actually have to wait on a second line-- it made my heart smile seeing so many fans coming out to see them in NYC . . . . I would love for this to become a regular spot for them .. . . . its a great venue . . . an easy 90 minute ride on the train (so you are all welcome to stay with me) --- it is a very expensive venue to buy drinks however . . . . so be sure to pre-game or come prepared with that easily concealed bladder flask . . . .
Pictures from the weekend. . . . my favorite at the Meet and Greets was Eddie . . . recognizing me and generously squeezing me. Will Pharaoh is an excellent hugger, I mean excellent! And BB was such an incredible treat . . . and our exchange was delightful. Lucky to have been a regular member of his HCTM run and extra lucky to see him back under wraps in NYC!

If I missed it in the debrief, I am sorry. But, did BBQ come out to the M/G?

Oh yes he did. It was absolutely awesome to give him a big ole squeeze. And got a smooch and hug when he got on stage, at the beginning of the show!!

Awe, I miss those moments with him. Such a pleasure to be in his presence.
But, I am quite positive I will see him one day again.

Yes, you will, but you will probably have to get to a New York show as that is his home base now. But, I could be wrong...it has happened.

Re: New York, NY - March 12
Yes, I know and therefore it wasn't a huge surprise the announcement of him playing the NYC show. But now, based on that knowledge, when the boys play in BBQ's back yard again, I am sure there will be more of a line than this past time. Folks, if feasible, will be flocking to NYC.SrtaBe wrote:Yes, you will, but you will probably have to get to a New York show as that is his home base now. But, I could be wrong...it has happened.
I see a renting of a 15 passenger van in our future. Right Midwest folks...VIC? Reino? Phunky!

Not sure I will be flocking to New York any time soon. That sounds expensive.
It would be fun though.

A few things . . . .
HCTM . . .Please come back to NYC . . .sooner than later!
Forum People! Please come out to visit! We'll take NYC by storm!
I did hear that as of Friday afternoon - tickets sales were already doubled from their last year show . . . .and there were a number of walk-ins!
It just keeps getting better!
A link to a few pics from a NY photographer . . . Not too many bit cool!

Re: New York, NY - March 12
I just dropped by the forum while I had a quick 5 minutes today, and wanted to chime in.. it's official. The NY/BB King's pre-show tequila shot is solidified as a tradition with our second annual showing on Saturday. And it definitely made the show from my end much more fun. Thanks to all those who joined (and bought) the shots. See ya soon!
